History
Ocean Jasper is also referred to as orbicular jasper or moon jewel jasper. Recent findings declare it to be chalcedony and not jasper. This mineral contains orbicular patterns, agate-like banding, and sometimes druzy pockets.
Physical Properties
Ocean Jasper originates from only one place in the world: Madagascar. Originally it was only minable by boat, found right off the coast and fairly close to the ocean surface. Later ocean jasper was found further inland.
