History
Kambaba Jasper is also known as Kambaba Stone or Green Stromatolite Jasper. This stone has been commonly misclassified and consistently debated in the mineral community. Many claim that it is a stromatolite (a fossil dating back 3 billion years). However, it has been analyzed by Germany’s Gemstone Testing Institute and found to be a green rhyolitic (volcanic) stone.

This mineral contains green quartz, feldspar, aegirine, and circular aggregates of amphibole needles. Kambaba Jasper is found only in Madagascar.
